Hi my name is William and I would like to talk a little (maybe a lot) about myself.
The best place to start I suppose is with my Father; Born in Cumbria, Westmoreland in a little town (or village) called Brough. He was the youngest in the family of four brothers and one sister. His father John Whelpdale married to Isabella Anne Crossthwaite was a farmer (which is as much as I know about my grandad and grandmother).
My father must have been "onehellofaguy" to have had the interesting and most varied life which, to my regret, I didnt get to know much about. He must have been a fit young man as he joined the Parachute Regiment during his national service years and ended up in Palastine (Israel) as it was known then, he emigrated to Australia on his discharge and joined the Victoria Police force, where he married.........continued
